nancy pelosi says we still have a revenue problem. don't leave the tax hikes alone. what is amazing these guys don't address a problem. this weekend we get ready to essentially coronate a president, there is no evidence anywhere among anyone in washington they even see a problem. nowhere in any of the inaugural events is so much as passing bought of spending period. more like a four-day spending palooza, celebrates wonder of government and those that benefit from the government the woman who has a job thanks to the auto rescue. the dad's whose family is protecng thanks to the health care law. i think you get the point. austerity isn't the point. more government is. this inaugural weekend is all about a blueprint for revving it up. the white house says it is low-keying the inaugural festivities because of economy, omehow cutting yourself down to two presidential balls doesn't exactly strike me as sacrifice, as much as a slap in the taxpayer's face. to joe perry, marco and chris. not exactly partying. more like watching and worrying. what do you make of what is going on

three or four weeks later, he sits down with nancy pelosi and harry reid, passed 780 billion in stimulus, no one having read the bill and the republicans gut it and the speeches were wrong. the president tomorrow is going to sound right, okay? if he follows through on tomorrow's speech, he has a chance to be eisenhower. i don't think he will. i think he wants to be roosevelt in his second term. but that's neither here nor there. if congressional republicans can reach out on issues, take the case of gun control, i think the house judiciary committee ought to hold hearings in chicago. this is the president's hometown. the mayor is the president's former chief of staff. they have very strict gun control. and they are the murder capital of the united states, 516 dead last year. i think having a hearing on what happened before we rush into the next, you know , panacea, would be a useful exercise on a non-partisan basis. >> this idea and the other idea the speaker talked about about members of the black caucus going into republican district is kind of fascinating. part of the problem we have i

. >> you see president obama shaking hands with the democratic minority leader, nancy pelosi. close at his heels is chuck schumer, something you will all throughout the day. there's a lot of talk in washington about how republicans don't want to be here or how this is not a republican event, this is a democratic event. it is not like that. this formally -- there's former president bill clinton and secretary of state, hillary clinton, there. this is about governance and the presidency. this is not about who won the election, except in the technical sense. this is pomp and circumstance that should be everybody involved in governance as signified in a visible way by the presence of supreme court justices. supreme court justices do not avail themselves of political environments unless they are behaving in a way unbecoming or for justice. to have them there today is a reminder of the power of the united states. >> there are two people that have been fantastic for the country and barack obama. secretary of state, hillary clinton, and of course, bill clinton, former president. he was

i think a lot of people are on the left, including nancy pelosi who are wanting-- or invoking the 14th amendment and they're looking at cues he might do that. and i think the cues saying he won't are stronger, jay carney said from the podium, the 14th moment saying it won't work. >> megyn: and telling our viewers, that the democrats, some believe that's a unilateral way that the president could bypass authority that is clearly with the congress, the congress is the only one allowed to raise the debt limit and the president could have some constitutional requirement to do it. >> you're he the lawyer, but my reading of the 14th amendment is that congress shall do this. >> megyn: even the president said i talked to my lawyers about that one and they didn't think it was a good idea. >> right, the president can't violate one constitutional stricture in order to enforce another. i think it's sort of a nonstarter. and what obama is essentially doing, saying it's outrageous for the republicans to have any demands whatsoever and so obama is saying, my only demand is that you have no demands wha
